BG Football Academy, established in 2022, is the realization of a lifelong dream shared by some of Nepal's most celebrated football icons. The academy was founded by former Nepal international player Basanta Gauchan (Thakali) , a legend in Nepali football who was at the peak of his career with Manang Marshyangdi Club and became the pride of Pokhara. Known for his skill, dedication, and vision, Basanta Gauchan's journey continues as he contributes to the development of football in Nepal through this academy.
In its commitment to nurturing young talent and providing international exposure, BG Football Academy has collaborated with Funroots Academy and the renowned German club Jugend Fußball Schule Köln. These partnerships enable the academy to offer world-class training, resources, and opportunities for aspiring players to achieve their dreams on a global scale.
Basanta Gauchan is currently serving as the Asian Market International Business/Relations Department Chief for Funroots Academy and is also the Head Coach of the U-14 Team in Japan.
Joining him in this endeavor are two other superstars from M.M.C—Tashi Tsering, a former Nepal team player and successful businessman, and Rajendra Tamang, a player of immense talent who represented the Nepal team and now serves as the Head Coach of the Nepal Women’s International Team. Together, they are supported by the prestigious HSB Japan’s President, Mr. Binod Sherchan, which adds international credibility and expertise to the academy's operations.

These global giants, along with renowned clubs from Japan, Korea, and across the world, have participated in Copa Toreros since its first edition, offering our players the chance to compete and grow alongside the best in youth football.
